Malware Infected Android Devices

Still remember, malware named HummingBad, haunting Android users in mid-2016? This malware is believed to have infected at least ten million Android devices at that time.

Although it has been cleared from Google Play, the latest versions of the malware named HummingWhale emerging and re-infect twenty applications that have been downloaded millions of times by users via Google Play.

Citing reports Check Point via BGR, Thursday (26/01/2017), HummingWhale become more sophisticated than ever before, so as to deceive many Android users.

For your information, Check Point is a cyber-security company previously revealed the existence HummingBad the first time last year. Check Point said the maker and malware that successfully infects the application is able to make money of US $ 300,000 each month.

Interestingly, instead of stealing important data in the phone, this malware hijacks an ad that you see on the application. I was so sophisticated; this malware can install a variety of deceptive application without the user's knowledge and without burdening your Android device.


To get these applications more and more downloadable, HummingWhale trying to improve its reputation in the Google Play using fake comments and ratings. Mentioned, HummingWhale disguise itself into an app on Google Play as the camera application created by the developer from China.
